HEC Liège is firmly focused on its students, its alumni and its partners. The school's commitment to, and continuing investment in quality improvement has been recognized through international certifications including AACSB and EQUIS, two prestigious institutional accreditation.

So HEC Liège becomes the first complete Belgian business school to be doubly accredited AACSB and EQUIS for all of its activities (from bachelor to PhD, Executive Education included) !

AACSB - Institutional Accreditation

HEC Liège has received the prestigious AACSB quality label for the excellence of its programmes, the supervision of its students, its research, its Faculty, its involvement in its economic environment, its Alumni network and its organisation (2018).

EQUIS - Institutional Accreditation

In 2016, HEC Liège obtained the EQUIS accreditation, a prestigious and highly prized international recognition, issued by the EFMD.

The EQUIS label was awarded to HEC Liège on the basis of a 360-degree review: governance, quality, programmes and research management, human resources, the relevance and excellence of teaching and scientific production, the integration of the School into its area, its impact as an actor in economic development, its international positioning, its reputation, continuing training offer, etc.

In 2019, HEC Liège is rewarded for the quality of its education, research and governance by the renewal of the international EQUIS accreditation.

The EFMD thus confirms the progress made by HEC Liège towards a common objective of excellence, and reinforces the solidity of the School's strategy in terms of education, research and community services, both nationally and internationally.

This progress, since the first accreditation obtained in 2016, is clearly expressed in the auditors' report: HEC rates up to or above quality standards in all the criteria of the 9 areas analyzed: governance and strategy; programmes, students; Faculty; research and development; Executive Education; resources and administration; internationalization; ethics, CSR and sustainable development.

The Business School Impact System (BSIS) is a comprehensive impact assessment tool for business schools. This data-driven tool is an Impact communication tool, run as a joint venture between EFMD Global Network and FNEGE. The BSIS Label is awarded for a period of three years.

Current situation: HEC Liège received the label in 2015 and it was renewed in 2018 and in December 2021.

In October 2021, many colleagues met online with two EFMD/FNEGE BSIS experts. Their presentations highlighted the impact of our School in a very relevant and effective way, but also highlighted the collective work of the entire community. The experts were impressed by the quality of the documents submitted and by the flexibility and responsiveness of HEC Liège.

HEC Liège is proud to be the only Business School in Belgium to have received this label so far.

Certification "Financial Risk Manager" (FRM) - GARP

In December 2020, HEC Liège is certified "Financial Risk Manager" (FRM) by the GARP (Global Association of Risks Professionals) for its Master in Business Engineering specialized in Financial Engineering and thus becomes one of the academic partners of the international GARP network.

The CGE is also a centre of influence and representation before national and international organizations.
Finally, the CGE produces accreditation systems for specific training courses.

Admission to the CGE is based on demanding criteria relating to structure, recruitment procedures, pedagogical approach, international openness, links with the corporate world, student support and the nature of degrees.

HEC Liège has been audited successfully by AEQES (the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the French Community of Belgium) of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels. The three main dimensions (programs, research and community service) and the quality assurance system in place have been assessed and conform to the requirements of AEQES. This agency is also recognized by ENQA, the European agency certifying the quality of the Member States agencies.

European ECTS and Diploma Supplement labels / HSR4R (ULIEGE)

ULiège benefits from the three labels of the European Commission: ECTS, Diploma Supplement and HR Strategy for Researchers.

HSR4R guarantees the quality of the reception, information and working conditions of Belgian and international students and researchers.

ECTS is a system that makes the value of education internationally comparable. The DS is related to it and ensures the transparency of a degree's content. This is the very basis of a system that allows for the internationalization of student paths and mobility.

These two labels certify the seriousness of the U Liege in the use of ECTS and DS. These are truly two labels that strengthen student mobility in the spirit of the Bologna Agreements and the great project of European integration. They also highlight the international ambitions of the U Liege, which aims to be a prominent university on the European scene.

For students, accreditations guarantee programmes offering solid academic content in line with market needs as well as wide international experience during training. Accreditations also ensure international recognition of the degrees awarded by the School.

Companies view these accreditations as a guarantee of the quality of graduates, who are able to take up challenges and who can adapt to different and constantly-changing contexts. Graduates have learnt to be creative, ethical and respectful of the principles of sustainable development.

For Alumni, accreditations certify the durable quality, visibility and credibility of their degree.

Staff members take pride in the achievement of these accreditations and are motivated by working in an international  environment for the benefit of education and research.
